Dr Jitendra recommends promotion for UN Award winner lady cop

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has recommended out-of-turn service benefits or extra promotion for award winning and decorated lady cop Shakti Devi Sharma, who belongs to Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir State, in return for her outstanding and meritorious services which have brought laurels to the State.
In a letter addressed to Governor of Jammu & Kashmir N.N.Vohra, Dr Jitendra Singh has noted that Shakti Devi Sharma made the Jammu & Kashmir Police Force proud by receiving the prestigious United Nations Women Peacekeeper Award in 2014 for her work in Afghanistan. He further stated that Shakti Devi Sharma is the first woman police officer from India and certainly the first one from J&K to have achieved this glory.
In his letter, Dr Jitendra Singh further goes on to state that Shakti Devi Sharma was among the 100 women achievers invited to the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi on 26th of January this year. These 100 women achievers were selected by the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development in collaboration with Facebook through a nationwide contest and public nominations, he informed.
In a forceful reiteration, Dr Jitendra Singh has suggested that, in view of her dedication and hardwork, Shakti Devi Sharma deserves public recognition and also should be recommended for an appropriate out-of-turn service benefit or extra promotion as may be so in terms of the State Government Policy in this regard.
