Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi flagged off Sukrala Mata Yatra from Sukrala Mata Mandir, Purani Mandi, here today.
Hundreds of devotees accompanied the Chhari Mubarak that left for Sukrala Mata Temple Billawar in district Kathua.
Interacting with the participants, Dr Singh said religious events like this spread the message of brotherhood and peace. He thanked the participants and hoped that the Yatra
will bring happiness and prosperity to the state.
Priya Sethi said this religious event holds a strong social and cultural connotation that will help in establishing strong ties with common people in remote communities and far off areas.
“Such events are essential for propagating folk-spiritual culture, harmony and peace”, the Minister said adding that country’s unity is owed to similar pilgrimages which link different people.
She expressed the hope that divine blessings will strengthen the bonds of amity and bring peace and prosperity in the State.
