Winning their crucial league tie against Udhampur Rising Stars, Project Model School today sailed into the final of the ongoing Dr. Vidushi Kapahi Memorial 50 over Cricket League at Country Cricket Academy grounds, Gharota near here. In today’s outing, Project Model made it a superb eight wickets win against visiting side of Udhampur. Batting first, after Project Model won the toss and opted to field, Udhampur Rising stars kept on losing their wickets at regular intervals thereby whole side bundled out for a small total of 94 runs.
Musaif Ajaz tried to consolidate the innings and made superb 55 runs. Other batsmen could not do well and made meek surrender. Agastya Sharma bowled brilliant spell from Project Model taking away four wickets while Marutwan claimed three and Arastu Sharma felled the stumps twice. In reply, Project Model School attained the target in 15 overs losing just two wickets to pace bowling of Adipal Singh. Satyam Gupta scored 33 while Surya Uday Singh (19) and Rishab (18) remained other main contributors to the total. Agastya Sharma of Project Model School was adjudged man of the match four wickets haul. Meanwhile in another match Reasi Best Stars outplayed Udhampur Rising stars. After winning the toss and opted to field, Reasi Stars restricted Udhampur batsmen to a total 121 runs. However, struggling at 21 for five, Udhampur managed to make it a respectable score, courtesy valuable contributions from Vinayak (31) and Aditpal (24). Hardeep, Jasveer, Kapil claimed two wickets each from Reasi Best Stars. Later, chasing the target, Reasi Stars looked like collapsing and they too were in their twenties when they had already lost six wickets. However, some brilliant batting from Jasveer (40) and Andu Kumar (26) provided strength to their innings and Reasi Stars achieved the goal.
With today’s second win in the league round, Reasi stars have their hopes alive to reach the finals depending on the result of the match between Col. R N Chopra Academy and KC International School. For his all-round performance, Jasveer was adjudged as the man of the match.
