DRSC reviews functioning of FCS&CA, higher education, Industries & Commerce Deptts

The Departmental Related Standing Committee (DRSC-I) convened a meeting of the district officers to review the functioning of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, higher education and industries and commerce departments here today.
The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga, reviewed the functioning of Industries and Commerce (I&C), higher education and FCS CA departments in the district.
Legislators Ali Mohammad Dar, Ashok Khajuria, Vibodh Gupta , Sofi Yousuf, Ramesh Arora and Javed Ahmed Mirchal attended the meeting as committee members.
The members gave their valuable suggestions for further improvement in the working of these sectors in the district.
A threadbare discussion was held on the functioning of these departments in the district. The district heads of the departments briefed regarding the activities of their departments.
Regarding establishment of the industrial estate in the district, General manager DIC Sheraz Malik said that 121 kanal of land has been acquired at Thandapani and 122 kanal land has been acquired at Lamberi whereas 180 land has been identified at Gurdan.
The committee asked Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat and General Manager District Industrial complex to expedite work on these industrial estates so that people could avail benefit at the earliest.
The committee also discussed various issue related to the department of food civil supplies and consumer affairs which included allocation of ration and distribution among the consumers under different categories.
Assistant director informed the meeting that out of total population of 642435 souls 633389 souls have been covered under NFSA.
The committee also took stock of the education department in the district and asked the deputy commissioner to expedite the construction work of government degree college Nowshera and Kotranka.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mumtaz Choudhary besides other district officers attended the meeting.
