DSS resents shifting the Archives to Kala Kendra

A meeting of Executive committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) was held at Dogra Bhawan today under the Chairmanship of its president Th. Gulchain Singh Charak Former Minister. The members resented the decision of shifting the Archives and other monuments from Mubarak Mandi. They felt that the appointed committee has not taken vital aspects in consideration and thus not applied full mind on this most important matter of the Dogra heritage. They further said that the Kala Kendra is not a suitable place for the Archives and other monuments due to various reasons. The president said that the Archives and museum is the soul of Mubarak Mandi complex and without which the historic complex will become lifeless. The Sabha also decided to hold a “Dogra Pagri Tying” Competition on 3rd of December, 2016 in the hall of Dogra Sadar Sabha.
The president appealed to all Dogras especially youth to come forward and participate in the competition to be followed by a ‘Preeti Bhoj’. Coming heavily on the Door Darshan authorities at the centre, the Sabha divulged that the local Door Darshan is being given step motherly treatment by the central government causing detrimental results in promotion of Dogri language and the Dogra Artists.
The DSS demanded immediate enhancement of Dogri programmes and providing more funds to DD Jammu and therby opportunities to the local artists talented in various fields. They also stressed the need of starting of “Duggar” channel. The meeting was attended by among others Prem Sagar Gupta, Sohail Kazmi, Santosh Magotra, Chhatter Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Chhankar Singh, Ashok Kumar Gupta, Madan Rangila, Rajeev Kumar, Sr. Kulbir Singh and others.
