1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mohd Akram Chowdhary rejected the bail application of one Parveen Sharma son of Mohan Lal Sharma resident of Trikuta Nagar in NDPS Act.
While rejecting the bail application, 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mohd Akram Chowdhary after hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the state whereas DS Saini appearing for the applicant observed that on December 4, 2016, police of Police Station Bahu Fort Jammu , while performing checking duty at naka point near Sector -2 Trikuta Nagar Jammu, gave signal to a white coloured I-10 car without number plate coming from Sector -1 Trikuta Nagar, whose driver on seeing naka police tried to flee, but was apprehended by the police and on inquiry he disclosed his name as Parveen Kumar Shama, applicant herein ; that during checking , police recovered and seized 170 bottles of Corex and register a case.
Court further observed that the epidemic of drugs in young generation has assumed alarming dimensions in India. It has led to increase in the crime rate. With most drug users being in the productive age, the loss in terms of human potential is incalculable, causing damage to their physical, psychological, moral and intellectual growth. Drug Abuse has became a major problem of the society over the years. The illicit drugs have a high addiction potential and there is gradual increase in their intake, getting the users dependent on these drugs both physically and psychologically. The young generation, which is called future of a society or a nation, is thus, at a peril. With these observations court rejected bail application. JNF
