Ex-MLA, Ramban urges govt pay compensation to flash flood victim

Expressing his grief over the loss of the lives of three minor students at Ladhwal in Batote due to flash flood in the nallah ,the ex-MLA, Ramban, Ashok Kumar today urged the state government to immediately pay at least Rs.5 lac as compensation to each of the bereaved families.

While attending the cremation of the decease children at Chakwa in Batote today he consoled their families and expressed his heartfelt condolence.

He has also demanded the immediate payment of compensation to the affected families for their losses of crops, fruit trees besides the damage to their houses at par with that given in Kashmir during 2014 floods.

He said that a long term development works should be taken up in the Gami and Boon Badi area to prevent the recurrence of the private and the public property losses .

He said that it is imperative to construct the culverts and bridges under MGNREGA and other government schemes over all the nallahs and gorges in villages and forests to avoid the risk to the lives of school going children due to the swelling of nallahs during rains.

He has urged the government to permanently station a company of SDRF at Batote to meet any such emergency in future.
