Excise Deptt conduct raids in Kathua, destroy 1950 Kgs of Lahan

In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation liquor, the Excise department has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu Divison. Team of excise department on Wednesday conducted a series of raids across Kathua district in which more than 1950 Kgs of Lahan and illict liquor destroyed.
According to the official spokesperson, under the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohd. Javed Khan and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, ETO Eradication wing Suraj Chander Singh along with Inspector Arun Kumar and Shadi Lal along with others raids here in Hiranagar. “The excise team raided Sunjwan, Persochack, Chhibachack and Banyari areas of district Kathua to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor and In the process over 1950 kilograms of Lahan, 70 bottles of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health were recovered by the raiding team from state land was destroyed on spot.”
