Excise sleuths conduct raids in Kathua, 900 Kgs Lahan destroyed

In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation liquor, the Excise department has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division. A team of excise department conducted raids across Kathua district in which more than 900 Kgs of Lahan destroyed.

According to the official spokesperson, under the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Anoo Malhotra, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Syed Muried Hussain Shah, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Savita Chouhan; Inspector Excise Sanjeev Khajuria, Arun Kumar along with excise staff raids here in Kathua. “The excise team raided at Sumwan and Mahi Chack areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, during this more than 900 kilograms of Lahan and raw material of illicit liquor which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from state land and later destroyed on spot.”
