Excise sleuths conducts raids in Kathua, 1200 Kgs lahan destroyed

In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation liquor, the Excise department has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu Divison. Team of excise department on Thursday conducted a series of raids across Kathua district in which more than 1200 Kgs of Lahan and illict liquor destroyed.
According to the official spokesperson, under the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohd. Javed Khan and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar and Shadi Lal and Enforcement and Eradication Wing Jammu along with excise staff raids here in Kathua. “The excise team raided Banyari, Sunjwan, Chartyala and upper Saktachak areas of Kathua district Kathua to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor and 1200 kilograms of Lahan, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health were recovered by the raiding team from state land was destroyed on spot.”
