Excise sleuths conducts raids in Kathua, 1850 Kgs Lahan, 5 bottles of illicit liquor destroyed

In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation liquor, the Excise department has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division. Team of excise department on Tuesday conducted a series of raids across Kathua district in which more than 1850 Kgs of Lahan and 5 bottles illicit liquor destroyed.
According to the official spokesperson, under the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohd. Javed Khan and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar, Shadi lal along with excise staff raids here in Kathua. “The excise team raided Chartyala, Labhu chak, Barnoti and Chakdrabkhan areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, During this one working still, more than 1850 kilograms of Lahan, raw material for illicit liquor and 5 bottles of illicit liquor which is highly hazardous and injurious for health were recovered by the raiding team from state land was destroyed on spot.”
