One day farmer awareness programme was organized by Department of Agriculture Zone Samba in remote Village Kamtha Panchayat Gram Block Sumb district Samba under the chairmanship of Chief Agriculture Officer Samba Ch Mohd Iqbal. Farmers from Sarla, Beli and Phogal village participated in the awareness programme.
Deputy Project Director (ATMA) Ashok Gupta, on this occasion, aware the farmers regarding the importance of Kissan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Keeping in view the ground reality of this remote rain-fed area, he suggested the farmers to enhance area under oil seed and Pulses during Rabi and Kharif for production and productivity. During the effective and successful interaction with the farmers, he advised to maintain cattle population and adopt Bio-pesticide technology by using Trichoderma with Farm Yard Manure for soil application to improve fertility of soil and moisture conservation. He also awarded the farmers regarding use of vermin compost and vermin wash technology in their field.
Agriculture Extension Officer, R K Mathu, brief the farmers of this remote area regarding seed treatment importance of Soil Health Card and different developmental activities available in his zone for the betterment of the farming community. He advised the farmers to come forward and avail benefit from the Central sponsored schemes. Balwan Singh Ex-Servicemen on behalf of farmers thanks and appreciated the efforts of the Zonal Officer Samba, his village Agriculture Extension Assistant and Deputy Project Director (ATMA) for their effective and successful awareness programme for this remote area and requested the visiting officers to arrange such type of awareness programme in near future also Village Agriculture Extension Assistant Rajeev Kotwal and Rajesh Pathania remain present during the programme.
