Krishi Vigyan Kendra conducts farmer’s field day

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Jammu organized farmer’s field days for Wheat, Gram and Oilseed crops rose under frontline demonstration programme during Rabi 2016-17.
While addressing the gathering, Dr Rakesh Sharma, Sr Scientist Agril. Extension, KVK Jammu briefed that laying frontline demonstration are among the better option for promotion of the proven technologies and their effective dissemination in the farmers field where farming communities can easily adopt the demonstrated technology through seeing is believing ideology.
Dr Punit Choudhary, Scientist Agro forestry stressed that the technology demonstrated through KVK interventions should help in increasing the overall productivity and achieving self-sustainability by the farming community of the district.
Farmers in large numbers, and officers of line departments participated actively in the field days organized at different locations.
During the Rabi season frontline demonstrations on latest technologies were laid on wheat covering an area of 10.8 ha, Gram (16.5 ha), Oilseed (6.85 ha), Grafted Aonla (180 no’s), Marigold (2.5 ha) through more than 300 farmer fields in different blocks of the Jammu district.
