Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah Tuesday visited daily wagers and NYC volunteers who are observing hunger strike at Pratap Park.

At Partap Park today morning, he shook hands with the chief of J&K Casual Labourers and Daily Wagers Forum Sajad Ahmad Parray and then inquired about the health of protestors.

“Your demand is genuine and NC supports your demand. We are worried about your health. All members of your Forum should not observe (hunger) strike at a time. What you should do is actually to observe strike in shifts by changing the members in every shift to avoid any deterioration to your health,” he suggested.

The daily wagers are demanding framing of policy for regularization of their services and began hunger strike to press for demand from October 3, this year.

Dr Abdullah spent around 45 minutes with them and later also visited NYC volunteers who are also on hunger strike in Pratap Park from past thirty five days.
