Farooq ‘encouraging’ stone pelters: Dy CM

Jammu Tawi, Apr 13
Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today flayed the National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah asserting that he is known for ‘double standards’ and ‘encouraging’ stone pelters in Kashmir Valley. “The former Chief Minister, who is known for its ‘double-standard’, is now further trying to aggravate the situation by provoking and encouraging the stone-pelters for his self interests and also trying to demoralise the security forces,” Dr Singh told reporters at the sidelines of ‘Jammu Mahotsav’ here this evening.
He further said, “Farooq Abdullah is in habit of changing his statements on different occasions at Srinagar, Jammu and New Delhi to remain in limelight.”
“He (Farooq Abdullah) used to call these stone pelters traitors during NC government but changed statements just for the sake of vote,” alleged Dr Singh.
On Congress delegation’s meeting with the Governor, the Dy CM said, “Coalition government has been working effectively in the state which has become worrisome for National Conference and Congress.”
On a query regarding stonepelters attacked CRPF personnel on poll day, the Dy CM said, “security personnel have been rendering their services effectively at the risk of their lives. Such anti-nationals elements in the Valley would be identified and strict action would be taken against them under law.”
