‘Fire Prevention week’ concludes at Salal Power station

Fire Prevention Week’ commencing from 14.04.2016 at Salal Power Station concluded today with impressive Prize Distribution function.

AG Ansari, General Manager, Salal Power Station was the Chief Guest who distributed the prizes among the winners of the Painting competitions among the school children of various schools. Among others, Sri Prakash, Chief Engineer (Civil), AZ Geelani, Chief Engineer (Elect.), Senior Officers from NHPC Limited, Principals and teachers from KV, Jyotipuram, Govt Middle School, Bidda and school children were present on the occasion.

During the observance of Fire Prevention week, a number of activities were taken up like observance of ‘Martyr’s Day’ on 14.04.2016, Awareness Programs by display of banners and pamphlets, Painting Competition among the students, Showing Documentary Films received from Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, Demonstration/Lectures on prevention of fire and above all Mock Drill by Firemen of the Power Station.

Speaking on the occasion, AG Ansari, General Manager, Salal Power Station said that risk of fire is a great threat to life and property and loss of life as a result of fire is a tragedy. Thus, awareness on preventing fires is need of the hour as many fires are preventable. He further recommended showing of Documentary Film on, Prevention of Fire’ at regular intervals to various targeted groups.

Earlier, Manoj Goel, Manager (Electrical)/Incharge Fire & Safety apprised the Chief Guest & others present about the event and activities taken up during the week. The function concluded by honouring the Firemen of the Power Station.
