Flagged In of trekking expedition at Samote

A twelve day `Adventure and Trekking Expedition’ of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Samote under the aegis of Rashtriya Rifles Force Headquarters, Reasi was `flagged In’ by the GOC, Uniform Force.

The team led by Maj Kushagr Jaswal, one JCO and twelve other ranks successfully completed the trekking of 157 Kilometers starting from Patni Top to Bani over a period of twelve days. During the period of their trekking, the troops crossed heights ranging from 9000 feet to 12000 feet which was a challenge in itself.

The main objective of the trekking expedition was to instill a sense of adventure, interact with the locals and motivate the youth to take up a career in Army.The expedition also helped in gaining vast experience of the customs and traditions of the local populace. The GOC, Uniform Force, congratulated the troops for successfully completing the trekking expedition.
