Former football player dies of cardiac arrest in north Kashmir

On Tuesday morning, a former football player from the north Kashmir Pattan area of Baramulla district dies of cardiac arrest.

The slain was identified as Mohammad Ashraf Yattoo, who was a prominent footballer from the Yadipora Hyderbeigh Pattan area in the Baramulla district.

As per the family, Yattoo fell unconscious in Pasnag village and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, however, doctors present there declared him brought dead on arrival.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a 20-year-old son.

Yattoo was a known football player in the area. He had represented his team Yadipora Hyderbeigh Football Club for many years and bagged many awards for best performance in the district.

Following medical complications, Yattoo started working as a driver in the area. He was mostly driving his vehicle on Tapper-Pasnag road.

Locals termed his death as a big loss to the football fraternity in the area.
