At least four army jawans died while ten sustained grievous injuries in a tragic road mishap in Jatwal area of district Samba on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
As per inputs the army vehicle of 1882 regiment carrying army jawans was on its way from Pathankot to Jammu and on reaching somewhere between Jatwal and Ghagwal area in Samba district the vehicle developed some technical snag in its steering.
Reports said that after the snag, vehicle turned turtle and rolled down into a deep gorge resulting into the on spot death of four jawans and serious injuries to ten others.
After the incident local people raised alarm and informed the police who rushed to the spot and launched the rescue operation besides shifted the injured to Military Hospital Maheshwar, Samba where doctors declared four of them as brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Lance Naik Sanjay Kumar Rai 15214632M, Lance Naik Murli Manohar Babu 14446820P, Naik Abhishek15215605W and Sanjay Grotn 15282456N.
The injured are undergoing specialized treatment at military hospital Samba but the condition of some injured is said to be critical.
The injured have been identified as Hav Kamlesh Singh (40), Vikash Bakshi (33), Naik Sanjay Rai (32), Sepoy Vikesh Sharna (30), Lance Naik Naresh Kumar (31), Naik Suryakant Gandhi (30), Lance Naik Bharat Sudhiya (24), Sepoy Shankar Kumar (30), Sepoy Sanjay Chanakya and Sepoy Gamer Bsheik.
In this regard police has registered a case under FIR number 53 under section 279/337/304 A at police station Ghagwal and has started investigation to ascertain the actual reason behind the mishap.
