A free eye camp was inaugurated today by Deputy Commissioner Bhupinder Kumar. The camp was organized by the Social Workers Forum Doda in collaboration with the District Health Authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts and achievements made by the Social Workers Forum and also congratulated the officers and staff of Health Department, District Red Cross Society.
It was informed that since 2001, the forum has organized 15 eye camps in different parts of the district and has examined 27400 patients and provided medicines to them free of cost.
A total of 676 patients have been operated in these camps with 465 lenses being used and 235 patients have been issued Spastics. 1352 patients have been provided free food, accommodation and medicines during their hospitalisation, by the forum since 2001.
Chief Medical Officer, Doda Dr. Kulbushan, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr. M. Y Mir, Former Deputy Director Health Dr. Shahid Mughal and President Social Workers Forum Doda Anayatullah Khan besides prominent citizens and eye patients were present during the camp.
