Free LPG to poor families

The launching of Pradhan Mantri Ujjala Yojana (PMUY) scheme in J&K state by central government on September 28 is one of another feather to be added in the cap of various welfare schemes meant for weaker section launched by Modi government.
With this scheme, Modi Govt is trying to reach out to the poor to the poorest people of the country.According to this scheme, central govt is going to give 8 lakhs free LPG connections in J&K state.
The scheme would be launched in the state by Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmandra Pradhan and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti simultaneously in the capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar on September 28, 2016.
Under the scheme, the central government is committed to distribute 5 crores free LPG connection to poor women, among 8 lakhs in J&K.
NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already launched several people friendly schemes. Merely launching of such scheme is not going to help unless the state particularly local administration create awareness, complete all formalities so that the benefits goes to deserving persons. Even earlier successive government launched various welfare schemes like MNREGA and IAY meant for people below poverty line (BPL) but still the people has not been benefited as per fanfare made by the government.
There are instances of corruption on the part of Panchayat members or government officials misusing the funds and depriving benefit to the deserving people while in some areas the people are not aware about these schemes.
It is not fault of government but of local administration or Panchayat members, who are corrupted and do not want to do their job. There is no doubt that efforts are being made by every government to help its people but if the schemes are not launched sincerely then it defeat the very purpose for which it is meant for and the scheme remain confine in files.
As far as this scheme is concerned there complaint from the people that list of below poverty lines (BPL) has not been surveyed in some areas.
The scheme would remain successful when BPL lists are updated and deserving people are included by the government official otherwise real beneficiary would deprive from its benefit and official would try to give benefit to their dear ones or engaged in corrupt practice.
We see several women of rural areas belonging to poor families using cow dung or woods for cooking meal.
They feel suffocation of the smoke emanating from hearth before they could cook the food for the family.
Realizing these hardships faced by women of poor families, our visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched this scheme.
According to the scheme, free LPG connection would be distributed to female of poor families as it is only women who mostly bear the brunt of poverty for not having LPG connection.
Such types of schemes if implemented sincerely would help to alleviating the suffering of poor of the state.
We once again reiterate that purpose of the scheme can be realised if the benefits go to deserving poor families.
