Gaddi and Sippi tribes of Bhaderwah express joy over the relay of Gaddi Programe on AIR

People belonging to Gaddi and Sippi tribes of Bhadarwah distributed sweets and danced on the beats of drums to express their joy over the relay of Gaddi programme in Gaddi dialect from All India Radio (AIR) Bhadarwah for the first time.   It is pertinent to mention here that Gaddi Language is an ancient tribal language spoken by more than three lakh people belonging to Gaddi and Sippi tribes in J&K state . At the behest of All J&K Gaddi Sippi Tribes Welfare association (GSTWA) AIR Bhadarwah has started relaying of Gaddi programme in Gaddi dialect from 3rd of april 2016 and the programme will be relayed on first and last Sunday of every month for a duration of fifteen minutes.

The Programme will highlight the gaddi culture and gaddi life style by relaying gaddi folk, songs, skits, dramas, stories and other culture activities in Gaddi dailects.  Parveen Jaryal State President of All GSTWA said that this initiative by information and broadcasting department will go a long way in conservation of rich culture heritage of Gaddi Tribes.    Jaryal exhorted on the programme head Radio Station Bhadarwah to enhance the duration of Gaddi programme from 15 to 30 minutes.   He also demanded recognition of Gaddi Language in sixth schedule of Constitution of J&K.      Those who participated in the celebration including former State General Secretary Advocate Mool Raj , District Secretary, Cashier Shiv Kumar, Avinash Kumar  , Kartar Singh, Mohinder Singh, Rishi Kumar, Tehsil President Rakesh Kumar and others.
