Gandhi Global Family celebrates International Peace Day

Gandhi Global Family today celebrated International Peace Day 2015 in collaboration with United Nations at Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar , Jammu.

The function started with a brief on peace by Padmashri S P Varma, President GGF J&K, which was followed by a multiple question answer session on queries regarding U.N.O which was conducted by Priya, U.N Quiz master. A large number of questions regarding all activities of UNO were asked from the students who promptly and correctly responded to all the questions. The winners were awarded with prizes.

The chief guest General (Rtd) G.S Jamwal in his speech narrated his personal roles in some of the wars he fought himself. He gave a brief regarding the manner in which the British divided this strong nation into India and Pakistan. He stressed for peace, love, integrity and harmonious relations between different nations so that an atmosphere of cordiality, growth, development and progress can be created in the whole of the world.

The Principal of the school, Rameshwar Mengi was honoured with Indo-UN Pin and books on U.N activities were handed over to him. He presented vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, shields were given to them with a special shield to chief guest and a gift to. Priya. Others who were present during the occasion including Inspector Shakti Sharma, SHO Jammu city, Vijay Magotra and Ramesh Singh Chib.
