G.D Goenka Public School, Jammu governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable trust celebrated Baisakhi, the festival of harvest with immense joy, enthusiasm and fan-fare.
While addressing the gathering, the Principal of the school, Rajesh Rathore congratulated the students for their performance and the special morning assembly.
The Primary wing of the school was decorated with vibrant streamers, ballons, Phulkaris and charts depicting this beautiful festival. A special morning assembly was held for the students of middle and senior school wherein the students explained the importance of this festival.
Later, traditional Punjabi folk dance ‘Gidda’ was showcased by the middle school girls. They were all dressed in traditional Punjabi attire. The students of primary wing also presented Punjabi folk dance and a group song by the students of classes I & II.
The purpose of this assembly was to educate the children about the different roles a farmer plays to sow, plough, harvest and collect crops to satiate our hunger.
The Goenkan acres wore a festive look with the corridors buzzing with the zest, zeal and synergy of the students.
