GDC students holds protest demonstration, block National Highway

Thousands of students from Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban staged a protest demonstration in favour of their long pending demands and block the national highway for more than 2 hours at Karol, here today.

The protestor was led by president Panthers Student Union Suresh Singh who was accompanied by district president Mangal Singh and other party members.

The students blocked the busy Jammu-Srinagar national highway and disrupted traffic for more nearly two hour. They raised slogans against the college management and said that their demands should be fulfilled.

Addressing the protestors Suresh Singh said that the college management should avail the facility of transport for the students besides renovate the computer lab which is damaged from the past many months which affects the studies of the students. He further said that due to the shortage of staff in the college there is no proper timing of classes.

Meanwhile Tehsildar Ramban Gurpreet Singh and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) Headquarter Ramban M R Choudhary reached on spot and assure them that their demands will be fulfilled at the earliest after which the protest came to end.
