Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sarwal boys bagged the under-17 volleyball title after the defeated SOS School 2-1 in the of the inter-school competition of Jammu zone, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Canal Road, here today.
Earlier, in the semifinals, GHSS Sarwal beat KC Public School while SOS trounced KC International School.
The under-17 kho-kho title went to SOS, who beat SRML Higher Secondary School by one turn and five points. In the semifinals, SRML defeated GHSS Nowabad by six points and SOS outplayed GHSS Sarwal by one turn and one point.
In under-14 kho-kho final, GMS Kabir Colony beat SOS by eight points. Earlier, in the semifinals, GMS Kabir Colony beat GMS New Plot by seven points while SOS defeated Laurence Public School by one turn and three points.
In kabaddi under-17 boys, GHSS Paloura defeated GHSS Sarwal in the final. Earlier, in the semifinal, GHSS Sarwal beat SRML Higher Secondary School. Similarly, in under-14 kabaddi title clash, Laurence Public School registered win against GMS Pull Tawi. In the semifinals, Laurence Public beat GMS New Plot .
Meanwhile, as per ZPEO, Jammu Zone, Saroman Dogra, the under-14 and under-17 girls’ competitions in different events shall start at the same venue tomorrow.
