Governor reviews relief disbursement in Valley

Feb 29: Governor NN Vohra today reviewed the disbursement of relief to traders in Kashmir whose business establishments were affected due to floods in September 2014.

The Governor was informed by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, that an amount of Rs 6.54 crore had been disbursed during the last three days, since February 25, in various district of the Kashmir valley.

A Raj Bhawan spokesperson said disbursement of relief to traders had been resumed this week after Governor’s directions to Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, during his visit to Srinagar on February 16.The Governor directed that disbursement of relief to the affected traders by the Deputy Commissioners must be closely monitored by the Divisional Commissioner.The Governor directed the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, to expedite the spade work for disbursement of relief for houses damaged in September floods out of Rs 1,194 crore approved under the Prime Minister’s Development Package 2015.The spokesperson said the State Administrative Council approved additional relief to affected families at Rs 2.5 lakh for fully damaged pucca house, Rs 1 lakh for fully damaged kutcha house, Rs 1.25 lakh for severely damaged pucca house, Rs 50,000 for severely damaged kutcha house, Rs 20,000 for partially damaged pucca house and Rs 10,000 for partially damaged kutcha house.
