Govt committed to stabilize drinking water supply system, says Jasrotia

BJP MLA from Kathua Rajiv Jasrotiaon Thursday said Government has prepared a comprehensive plan to meet the requirement of drinking water facilities in water deficit areas of the State, adding that for this purpose liberal funding has been earmarked under PHE and ERA for digging of deep drill tube wells and hand pumps. This was stated by the MLA while addressing a gathering after inauguration of PHE Tube well at village Bijjit. The tube well having a discharge capacity of 22,500 gallons per hour will supply clean drinking water to more than 15000 residents of village Bijjit and adjoining areas. The MLA said that faster development of urban, rural pockets and its periphery areas of the State was on the top priority of the development agenda of the Government. He said that upgradation of road network, education, power, irrigation, RDD and PHE sectors have been given top priority by the Government. Jasrotia said that massive road connectivity has been launched with a view to accelerate economic activities in the urban, rural and remotest areas of the State. MLA asked the PHE and ERA authorities to lay drinking water supply pipes in the uncovered areas of the urban pockets and urged the people to use drinking water judiciously. MLA appealed the people to take proper care of public property and not convert parks into parking lots. He further said that public participation is necessary for the successful implementation of any programme and appealed them to fully participate in Swachh Bharat Mission for ensuring sustainable development
