Bear attacks woman in south Kashmir

A bear attacked and injured a woman in Tailwan-Acchabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district last evening, officials said today.

The bear pounced on the woman, identified as Haneefa Begum, wife of Abdul Rehman Khan, a resident of Tailwan –Achabal near her house and critically injured her.

The victim has been shifted to district hospital Anantnag for treatment.

The wild bear is reported to have come down from the nearby forest to the residential area in search of food.
