Gupkar Alliance Trying Hard To Convince The Independent Candidates

Just after a day of the DDC election result, the major parties of the Gupkar Alliance are conducting a meeting in Srinagar regarding the matter of electing a DDC chairperson. The Gupkar Alliance is trying hard to convince the Independent Candidates to lend their support to the Alliance in electing the DDC Chairperson. Total 7 Independent Candidates have won from Srinagar.

As per the sources, the meeting is headed by NC President Farooq Abdullah. In the meeting Gulam Nabi Lone of PDP, Omar Abdullah, Retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi, Mohammad Muzaffar Shah, Javaid Mustafa of JKPM, and party leaders of CPIM, are present. In the meeting besides the agenda of electing the DDC chairperson, the leaders can also decide whether they will contest the coming assembly elections as an alliance or not apart from this the leaders will also talk about bringing Article 370 and 35 A back in J&K. After the meeting all these leaders will hold a press conference where they will tell about their plans.

The Gupkar Alliance currently has 3 seats. Yesterday their 1 seat increased as one independent candidate agreed to lend his support to the Gupkar Alliance in electing the Chairperson. The Gupkar Alliance also has to convince the Apni Party to lend its support to them. But there is news buzzing around that the Bhartiya Janta Party which has 3 seats can lend its support to Apni Party in electing the Chairman. Earlier BJP has said that they have supported many Independent candidates. Now the people of J&K have to wait to see which party will elect the DDC Chairperson.
