Gupta describes 2016-17 budget anti-people

The state vice president National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta on Wednesday described the budget presented by PDP-BJP Government for 2016-17 as anti people, saying this lacks imagination.
In a statement, Gupta took exception to the issuance of notifications with regard to levying of taxes proposed in the budget even before the State Assembly has passed it. “This is intriguing, especially as the highest democratic institution of the state is being bypassed”, he said while describing this unprecedented.
Gupta took jibe at BJP over its lofty slogan of Ache Din and said the proposed budget will have very negative impact on the poor people who will have to pay more on daily utility items. He described 14.5 per cent VAT as unjustified and sought its immediate rollback.Gupta said that no concrete direction has been given with regard to power reforms, initiated during the Omar Abdullah led government for making Jammu and Kashmir power sufficient state. He said the budget offers nothing to agriculture and industrial sectors while it lacks any concrete policy on checking the vexed unemployment problem.
The state vice president also expressed dismay over ignoring the legitimate demand of striking PHE workers and stressed the need for implementation of 7th Pay Commission Report simultaneously when the centre adopts it for its employees.
