Guru Bhai Ved Beyas Dutta’s mortal remains consign to flames

The mortal remains of famous Biramshahi Guru Bhai Ved Beyas Dutta, who died at GMC Jammu yesterday after a long illness, were consigned to flames in Mendhar Tehsil, district Poonch, Monday afternoon.
On receipt of information of his death, a sea of humanity that included government officials, local political leaders and his followers drawn from various areas like Mendhar, Poonch, Rajouri, Nowshera, Jammu, Punjab, Ambala, Delhi and other states witnessed the funeral ceremony with teary eyes.
His followers include Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and people of other section of society, who participated in the funeral in great number.
It may be recalled that every citizens of Mendhar Tehsil including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians are remembering him.Almost all were saying that he was a good human who throughout his life gave message of unity of Hindu-Muslim and they feel a great vacuum after his death.
Guru was a retired lecturer, famous writer, who wrote several books on pilgrimages of India and history of Satguru Baba Biiram Shah Ji Maharaj.
Prominent among those who participated in the funeral included SDM Thakur Sher Singh, SDPO Shahid Nayam, SHO Mendhar and former MLA Sardar Rafique Hussain Khan.
