Srinagar, December 4
Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, today said the orientation training program for Hajj aspirants will be revamped to ensure hassle-free journey for the holy pilgrimage. Speaking at a meeting of the State Hajj Committee (SHC) held at the Hajj House here, Andrabi said all the issues concerning the Hajj must be taken care of before the beginning of the holy pilgrimage and intending pilgrims need to be made fully aware of the do’s and don’ts. was also attended by Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Chief Executive Officer, State Hajj Committee, Qamar Sajad and other concerned officers. The Minister asked the officials of the State Hajj Committee to prepare comprehensive training modules, including video demonstrations, for the aspiring Hujaj to fully acquaint them about the procedures
of Hajj. Earlier, the CEO Hajj Committee gave an elaborate presentation on the problems faced by the Hujaj and the changes to be effected in the Hajj Orientation Training program for pilgrims. He said the State Hajj Committee will provide two hour training exclusively on Manasik-e-Hajj with focus on maintenance of discipline throughout the pilgrimage. He said SHC will provide special identification straps to pilgrims from J&K and they will be trained on how to prepare and pack their belongings to avoid loss or damage.
Later, the Minister met 28 Khudam-ul-Hujaj who were selected by the State Government from various Departments to accompany the pilgrims during the holy journey last year. He also distributed mementos among the top three Khudam-ul-Hujaaj and others to recognize their services during the pilgrimage.
