Ramban, November 22
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Law and Justice Abdul Haq today called for early completion of Trauma Hospital in Banihal keeping in view the urgency of medical care on the Srinagar-Jammu National highway.
The minister inspected the construction work of the 50 bedded trauma hospital during his visit to Ramban district and directed the officials to expedite the work so that project can be completed at the earliest. He said owing to location of the hospital on vital Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the facility is of great importance as it can cater to any eventuality on the highway.
Abdul Haq was informed that 90 percent of the work has been completed and rest of the works will be completed within two months at a cost of Rs 20.80 crore.
Abdul Haq also directed the ACD Ramban to speed-up the works take up by the Rural Development Department under different schemes in rural and far flung areas of the district for achieving the targets set for the year 2016-17.
On the occasion a deputation of locals also called on the Minister at Banihal and apprised him about their grievances and demands. The Minister gave patient hearing to the delegations and issued on-the-spot directions for redress of their grievances.
