HCBA protests against ‘unabated’ use of force against Kashmiris

The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) today staged protest demonstration here at HC premises against the ‘unabated use of pellets and killings and maiming’ of Kashmiris.

They were demanding India and Pakistan to initiate a dialogue process to resolve the long pending Kashmir issue.

Advocate Bashir Ahmad Sidiq, General Secretary of HCBA said that in last five months of uprising in the Kashmir, nearly one hundred people were killed while thousands were maimed and blinded.

“The Government of India and Government of Pakistan must initiate a peaceful dialogue to resolve the Kashmir issue,” he demanded.

He said that there is every possibility of war in case the GoI and Pakistan fail to initiate dialogue over the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Sidique said that they organized a protest today on the call given by the separatist leadership including Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz  Molvi Umar Farooq and JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik in their weekly protest calendar.

He said that the protest has been organized to convey a message to the world community to raise their voices against the sufferings of Kashmiris

“We want to appeal the International Community to play their role in pressing the both neighbouring countries to start dialogue process over the issue,” he said.
