Indian Air Force would be celebrating its 83rd anniversary on 8 October 2015. As part of the celebrations, the Jammu Station also known as ‘Gurdians of J&K’, would be organising number of events for the youth to join Indian Air Force, delivering on social responsibility, promoting health and welfare of its personnel and their families.
In the first of such events today an eight kilometers health run christened as ‘Eight on Eight’ was organised. All Air warriors, DSC personnel, Defence Civilians and their families participated in large numbers to promote health and fitness as a way of life.
Air Officer Commanding, Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal led the initiative and the entire station personnel completed designated eight kilometers run. All participants especially the children, exhibited absolute zest and commitment towards the cause. Excellent administrative arrangements on the part of organising team helped contribute towards the success of the event. The run enthused the feeling of pride and belongingness among the personnel and families.
On the culmination of event, the Air Officer Commanding thanked the gathering for whole hearted participation and supporting the health and fitness as a social responsibility. He congratulated all the personnel and their families for taking part in the anniversary celebrations of Indian Air Force.
