Jammu Tawi, December 6
Terming recent hike in the prices of foodgrains being provided to consumers through CAPD outlets, Youth National Conference on Tuesday assailed PDP-BJP dispensation for its callous and anti-people approach that has brought the state to a chaotic like situation on all fronts. The Youth National Conference has also sought probe into the distribution of solar lights in Poonch which were approved by previous NC-Congress government. In a statement, Provincial YNC President Ajaz Jan said that rise in ration price is like backstabbing the poor consumers, who are already facing the brunt of inflation and grappling with problems created by the insensitive coalition government in terms of dysfunctional utility services like power and drinking water. “Without any prior intimation to public, the state government has taken this drastic step thus putting the consumers in a fix, ” Jan said. He added that there is confusion among people as well as dealers that has impacted distribution of rations through sale outlets. “On one hand F,CS&CA Minster is calling upon Union Minister with demand to provide adequate ration quota to the state and on the other hand his ministry is increasing the prices arbitrarily ” Jan said. Jan also demanded a probe in the distribution of solar lights which were earmarked for Poonch by the previous government.
” People are nurturing apprehensions that the present dispensation is endeavoring to provide these lights to their supporters thus depriving the deserving house-holds much needed facility, which has been approved by the Omar Abdullah led government ” Jan said.
