Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in Jammu and Srinagar on the First Visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Jammu and Kashmir starting from October 23 after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A. Along with the deployment of security forces everywhere, drones will also be monitored. As part of the tour, he will launch an air service from Srinagar to Sharjah. Along with this, beneficiaries of various central schemes and panchayat representatives will meet at the beneficiary conference. In addition to holding a high-level security review meeting regarding the incidents of target killing in the state, he will address the gathering in Jammu. He will also inaugurate a new block at IIT Jammu.
Highly placed sources said that the Home Minister would reach Srinagar on October 23. Here he will participate in the beneficiary conference organized at SKICC. After removing 370 from the beneficiaries of central schemes and Panchayati representatives, they will take feedback on the development works on the ground. In Srinagar itself, the ongoing development works in the state and the works of the Prime Minister’s development package will also be reviewed. Projects related to tourism development will also be discussed. At the same time, meeting with various security agencies and administrative officials will discuss security forces’ strategy on the internal security, counter-terrorism front.
According to sources, on October 24, the Home Minister will inaugurate the new block at IET in Jammu and address a gathering at Bhagwati Nagar. It is also proposed to meet some delegations at Raj Bhavan here.
Sources said that during their tour, they would stay overnight in Srinagar. After addressing the gathering in Jammu, he will return to Srinagar in the afternoon. It is also proposed to meet various delegations in Srinagar. There will be representatives of political parties and representatives of multiple business organizations and civil society.
Traffic will remain closed from 23 to 25 on Boulevard Road in Srinagar
In view of the Visit of the Union Home Minister, Badyari to Nishat Bagh and Gupkar Road on Dal Bank Boulevard Road in Srinagar will remain closed for general passengers from 23 to October 25. Tourists will be allowed to visit Nehru Park after verification of their place of stay.
Sources said the proposed programs in Jammu and Srinagar would be finalized on Friday.
