Hunger strike by contractual lecturers enters 74th day

The hunger strike by contractual lecturers (10+2) enters 74th day but no response has been received from the government till date. They have been demanding for their regularization as per the civil services special provision act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the ad-hoc/contractual/consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services. The 10+2 Contractual Lecturers protested in front of Press club Jammu while protesting they were raising slogans like We Want Justice, In Qulab Zindabaad, Hamari Mange Puri Karo Puri Karo, Layenge Layenge Hum Karanti Layen Gaye. While addressing the gathering, Arun Bakshi State President of 10+2 Contractual lecturers Forum said that, this apathetic attitude of the government towards the Contractual Lecturers (10+2) is showing disregard to the teaching communities. Kanchan Bala, District President Kathua of the Associations said that a serious of meetings with Education Minister as well as Mos Education and Dy. Chief Minister of the J&K State but only assurance is has been given by all verbally but nothing concrete has come out. Jeevan Kumar State Press Secretary said that we have firmly decided to sit on hunger strike till some concrete result comes from government. Arun Bakhshi, Amrit Paul, Shilpa Raina and Radhika Parishar were also on chain hunger strike. They also threatened the government if their demands are not conceded at an earliest all of them will go for Fast unto Death.
