According to a report, the Player Draft for two new teams had seen that the first capped player would be paid 12.5 crore, while the remaining four capped players are to get Rs 9.5 crore, Rs 7.5 crore, Rs 5.5 crore, and Rs 4 crore respectively.

MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina were the first players to be picked in the order by Pune and Rajkot respectively. They are supposed are to get Rs 12.5 crores each but in reality Suresh Raina who was paid Rs 9.5 crore by the suspended Chennai Super Kings, will be given the same amount as his team needs to honour and match the previous contract.

The condition therefore symbolizes Rajkot will have to abide by the BCCI guideline.

According to sources, it is reported that the condition to match the previous contracts is mainly seen as a method where neither the player nor the franchises have to lose money.

In R Ashwin’s case, his salary was supposed to be Rs 7.5 crore in CSK and after being picked third, behind Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane, his previous salary matches the one stated in the draft.

In the overall scenario, this condition implemented by the BCCI seems to end up acting as a leveler.

The auction for the IPL 2016 will take place on February as the two teams will have Rs 27 crore each, having used up 39 crore apiece in the draft.

Here is al look at the picking order in the draft held on Tuesday.

Pune: 1. MS Dhoni (CSK), 2. Ajinkya Rahane (RR), 3. R Ashwin (CSK), 4. Steven Smith (RR), 5. Faf du Plessis (CSK).

Rajkot: 1. Suresh Raina (CSK), 2. Ravindra Jadeja (CSK), 3. Brendon McCullum (CSK), 4. James Faulkner (RR), 5 Dwayne Bravo (CSK).
