In the name of equal development of all the three regions of the state, the state as well as central government is ‘hoodwinking’ gullible people of Jammu and Ladakh, which was evident in the recently approved additional recruitment of 10, 000 Special Police Officers (SPOs) for ¬†the unemployed youth of Kashmir valley.
Resentment has started brewing among the youths of Jammu and Ladakh against the Centre as soon it announced the recruitment which was open to the youths of Kashmir only.
Talking to Newspoint, Congress spokesperson and former MLC, Ravinder Sharma said, “Choosing one particular region means what? Yes this is an open discrimination by the Central leadership. The state has three important regions and by choosing Kashmir only for recruitment, the government has ignored Jammu and Ladakh,” he added that government should equally treat the youth whether they are from Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu.
Congress spokesperson said, “The youth from border areas start from Kathua to Uri sector, they should be given first priority for recruiting process in security forces.” The policy of government for giving benefit to particular region is not, this will show government is not interested in Jammu and Ladakh regions, he added.
Demanding an equal distribution of posts in the three regions, the former MLC said the decision had put the BJP party in an embarrassing position. Taking a strong exception to it, Sharma termed the decision as a wrongful act of appeasement done by the Centre.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson, Arun Gupta said, “No there is no discrimination, government has started this recruitment in valley and soon it will cover Jammu and Ladakh regions.” He added that government first choice valley because the youth who are¬†engaged in stone pelting, they should move for this recruitment rallies so that peace would be prevail in the valley and for Jammu and Ladakh, these sort of recruitment rallies will be done soon.
