Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended greetings to the people of the country ahead of his speech at Red Fort in Delhi on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day. PM Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag and delivered his seventh consecutive Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
In a tweet, PM Modi said, “Happy Independence Day to all fellow Indians. Jai Hind!”

In his last Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on issues ranging from Jammu and Kashmir, the flooding in several states and water conservation.
PM Narendra Modi also talked about his government’s move to abolish instant triple talaq and said that Muslim women had been suffering under this custom. PM Modi had also pitched the concept of ‘one nation, one election’.
Multi-layered security arrangements and measures to ensure social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic are in place for the 74th Independence Day celebrations at the Mughal-era Red Fort this year.
According to the reports, a security ring, including NSG snipers, elite SWAT commandos and kite catchers, have been placed around the Red Fort from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation.
