Jammu boys lift U-19 divisional cricket trophy

Jammu boys clinched the inter-district divisional level under-19 boys’ cricket title outplaying district Doda by five runs in super over at GGM Science College ground, here today. The event was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
The match ended in a tie with the result the super over was bowled wherein Jammu boys emerged victorious. In super over, Jammu managed to score 11 runs for the loss of one wicket and in reply, Doda could make six runs thereby lost the all important game. Earlier, district Doda won the toss and decided to bat first made 101 runs in given 18 overs losing nine wickets. Akram (29), Zeeshan (15) and Rohi (18) were main scorers. From Jammu, Pavit, Samad, Harman and Harman claimed two wickets each.
Chasing a target of 102 runs, Jammu boys exhausted their quota of 18 runs at the same total of 101 with three wickets in hand.
Abdul Samad scored highest 40 runs while Nikhil and Aryan Dogra contributed 19 and 13 runs respectively. Sohil claimed two wickets from Doda while Abrar, Ajay, Aqib and Vinay Kumar shared apiece each.
The competition was officiated by the technical penal comprising Saleem-ul-Rehman, Sadhik Hussain, Suresh Singh, Madan Mohan, Farooq Ahmed, Jagtar Singh and Satika Sharma.
