Hundreds of casual labourers working in various Government departments under the banner of J&K Casual Labour United Front (JKCLUF) on Monday held a strong protest in the city, demanding regularization of their services and payment of their wages on monthly basis.

The rally was held under the leadership of presidents of associations of casual labourers of various departments and was attended by a large number of casual labourers from the different department while following all SOPs and guidelines issued by the Government in view of Coronavirus pandemic.

Talking to JK Newspoint, president of causal workers of PHE Department said that the Government is well versed of the fact that around 60,000 workers have been engaged by the Government from time to time in last 25 years in different departments for the smooth functioning of Government works.

He said that the workers have been approaching the Government and its representatives since long for seeking regularization of their services and payment of wages on monthly basis but the authorities at the helm of affairs continued to cause a delay in delivery of justice by constituting committees with no desirable result.

They demanded that the government should consider our demands as soon as earliest otherwise they would force to launch an intensify agitation.

Meanwhile, the president of J&K Casual Labour United Front thanked Akhil Bharatiya Safai Karamcharis Mazdoor Sangh for their support to genuine demands of the labourers. He also appealed all casual labourers to observe complete toll down strike on Aug 25, 26 and 27 for its grand success.
