Jammu Children spread the message of “Save Water” with 92.7 BIG FM

92.7 BIG FM during the month long ongoing campaign of BIG Jammu Run – RUN to Save Water”, today on Christmas organized a Painting Competition. The message being given by kids through this competition is “Save Water” for proud residents of Jammu. Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU), Department of PHE, I&FC, J&K State is supporting the cause as the Mission of this organization is “To build a behavioral change among society which results in the reduction of loss of water, control and prevent contamination and enhance water quantity, enrich water quality and assure water prosperity in a sustainable manner”.  Children in the age-group of 6-16 years painted on the theme of Save Water. Around 600 children hailing from different schools both government and private, took part in this competition in Jammu the venue for which was Wave Mall.

The effort was very well appreciated by the Chief guests for the occasion Sham Lal Chaudhary, Minister for PHE, I & FC. He said, “Saving water is the need of the hour. Children are said to be the torchbearers and giving such messages to children in a creative way will surely help in future. It is difficult to convince elders to change their lifestyle but only children have the power to do the impossible and convince their elders for such changes. As such, such events shall be held more frequently.” The Minister also distributed prizes to the winners of Junior and Senior categories. In Junior Category First, second and Third Prizes were won by Yashika Rajpoot, Adhyan Atri and Vedhant all from JK Public School. In the Senior Category Shahzad Abdullah from Army Public School Satwari Cantt., Nischint Singh from Tiny Tots Hr. Sec School Sainik Colony and Gorochana Salaria from KV No.2 won the First, Second and Third Prizes respectively.
