Jammu Kashmir exempted from NEET this year: Sunil Fernandes

Jammu and Kashmir has been exempted from National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for a year, said the state’s counsel in Supreme Court on Tuesday.

He was reacting to news reports in which Health Minister J.P. Nadda named only Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Punjab while listing the  states exempted from the test.

Sunil Fernandes, States’s counsel in the Supreme Court told Greater Kashmir that all states including Jammu and Kashmir have been exempted from the test this year.

Earlier, President Pranab Mukherjee signed an ordinance on the NEET exams on Tuesday, according the test as a statutory status, according to Nadda.
