Jammu to have first mechanised parking

Jammu city is set to have its first semi-mechanised parking in the heart of city, at old Super Bazar Complex City Chowk. It will be the first state of art parking facility at Jammu. The Tender Approval Committee of J&K ERA in its meeting today held under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Officer, J&K ERA Sh. Vinod Sharma approved the allotment in favour of lowest bidder M/s Consolidated Construction Consortium Ltd. (CCCL), a firm from Chennai. The cost of the project shall be Rs 47.31 crore and will be commissioned by March 2017.

This will be a seven level parking facility with provision for parking of 352 number of light motor vehicles and 164 two wheelers. Before today’s meeting necessary approvals from ADB had already been obtained, as the project is going to be executed under ADB funding. After completion of project, this facility shall be handed over to JDA (Jammu Development Authority) for its maintenance thereafter.

The project was processed by ERA for ADB funding on JDA’s request.The meeting of Tender Approval Committee was also attended by Director Finance Sh. M.Y Pandith, Chief Engineer, J&K ERA Kashmir Sh. Malik Bashrat, Chief Engineer, J&K ERA Jammu Sh. Ravinder Raina and incharge SE Jammu Sh. Shakti Sagar and other members of the committee.
