In order to provide proper health and medical services and awareness Jat Kalyan Sabha President Ch. Kamal Singh organized a free medical/consultation camp at village Jumbian Jattan, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu. The camp was inaugurated by S S Bijral IPS IGP Retired and State Convener of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in presence of Ch Kamal Singh, Satish Bharti and Ch Bishan.
A team of specialist doctors from various disciplines provided free medical consultations and care to the local populace of the adjoining villages of Jumbain Jattan, Bulanday, Kothay, Bana Chack, Lalyana, Chorli, Dabber, Waziray Chak etc.
These villagers not only provided free consultation/medical care but also educated about health awareness, seasonal skin diseases, Ortho problems, mental health problems and dental hygiene.
Doctors explained to the patients and their attendants about the first aid procedures and other life saving skills. During interaction with the patients and attendants they stressed upon adopting healthy lifestyle to overcome the fear of diseases.
The specialist doctors who provided free consultation to the patients/attendants included Dr Bias Dev M.S Ortho, Dr Sanjeev Sharma M.S Surgery (Surgeon Specialist), Dr Abhishek Chowhan M.D Psychiatry (Neuro psychiatrist) and others.
On the sidelines of the camp, Dr Abhishek Chowhan Neuropsychiatric and De-addiction specialist stressed upon the need of drug free society. He described various strategies to quit drug abuse. A number of quarries about drug abuse and its treatment were also replied by him.
S S Bijral (IGP Retd) and State Convener of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao while speaking on the occasion mentioned of sheer bias against women in society without basis. Mentioning of achievements of host of ladies around the world he said given proper upbringing and guidance women were as capable of delivering as the men. He challenged the very basis on which cry against girl child rested and said: Beti Nahin Maa Nahin; Maa Nahin Aulaad Nahin; Aulad Nahin Samaj Nahin and knowing this still the society says ‘Beta Hi Beti Nahin’.
