Army today said that Pakistan today launched BAT action on the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on which a Junior Commissioned Officer and BSF Head Constable attained martyrdom.
“Pakistani Army carried out unprovoked Rocket and Mortar firing on two forward posts on the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch,” defence spokesman here said.
He said that simultaneously a BAT action was launched on a patrol operating in between the two posts, adding, “in an un-soldierly act by the Pak Army the bodies of two of our soldiers in the patrol were mutilated.”
“Such despicable act of Pakistan Army will be appropriately responded,” he added. A Junior Commissioned Officer and BSF jawan attained martyrdom while three others got injured when Pakistan targeted forward Indian post on the Line of Control, official sources here said.
“Pakistani Army this early morning targeted forward Indian Post in Krishna Ghati sector by firing RPG and bursts,” official sources here said.
They said that heavy fire from Pakistan Posts was fired at BSF posts at LoC in KG Sector with rocket and automatic weapons in which six persons sustained injuries, three seriously.
“Three critically injured included one Head Constable from BSF and one JCO from Army,” they added and said that one of the BSF jawans identified as Prem Sagar of 200 Battalion from Dewaria, UP attained martyrdom while injured JCO identified as Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh of 22 Sikh Li also succumbed and attained martyrdom.
