New Delhi, December 17
Janata Dal (United) has said that the government decision to advance budget for fiscal 2017-18 to first of February would “violate” the election code of conduct as notification for assembly polls will be already enforced.
“This can be a violation of election code. We will oppose it,” senior Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav said here. He said one of the strategies of the JD(U) will be to petition the Election Commission itself.
“Let’s see what comes out,” he said adding at least there can be a general advisory from the poll panel that the government may restrain from announcing “sops” for the poll-bound states. “Lucrative schemes trying to woo various sections of people in these poll-bound states including Uttar Pradesh can influence the voting pattern of the electorate,” he said.
